Bleckmann uses seated acupressure massage services during Mental Health Awareness week to enhance staff wellbeing
11th - 15th May 2026 and my second year attending Bleckmann during Mental Health Awareness Week, to treat some of their staff to a Seated Acupressure Chair Massage session. Last year I attended 2 of their sites in Lutterworth though this year I had the privilege of attending the 2 Lutterworth sites as well as sites in Crick, Corby and Burton On Trent.
Bleckmann is an international logistics company specialising in the fashion and lifestyle industry with an impressive infrastructure and over the 5 days that I attended their sites, I treated around 90 staff members each to a 15 minute acupressure session.
Most often, organisations will use this service for office staff who spend long hours sat at a desk working in front of computer monitors. Office work can leave staff prone to back pain, headaches and fatigue and I know this from my own experiences. Most of the staff members that I treated were warehouse operatives who tend to undertake more manual forms of work so there was no “them and us”. The service was open to all.
I sensed no doom and gloom at all on speaking to all staff members, and this reflected in some of the feedback that was received after the session. These comments impressed me as corporate wellbeing is something that I have been passionate about for sometime. Also, the look of gratitude and exhilaration was great to see after each session.
Bleckmann’s HR Business Partner Nicola McClusky told me that the organisation recognised the importance of having a happy workforce and they often looked at ways of supporting and holding different activities to support staff across the whole organisation. Nicola also stated that Mental Health Awareness Week was the ideal opportunity to have this service due to its positive benefits.
This is clearly an organisation that understands that staff wellness creates a positive and cohesive workforce and I had an enjoyable week with them.
